Choosing your size

Choose by the duvet you already own, not by the bed it sits on. All sizes in centimetres.
Finished sizes after washing. Linen is a living fabric: allow up to 2 cm either way.
The fitted sheet has elastic all the way round and suits mattresses up to about 30 cm deep, topper included. Pillowcases are housewife style, plain flap, no border. No flat sheet in the set.
The colour
Flint Stripe.
A deep charcoal drawn through with a fine pale line. The stripe does real work: it breaks up the mass, so the bed reads as a set of lines rather than a block of grey, and a dark bed stops looking like a hole in the floorplan.
The most architectural colour here — it gives a plain bedroom a spine and, unlike most neutrals, holds its own against a strong wall colour instead of disappearing into it.
Where it belongs
Strong wall colours.
Deep green, dark blue and plaster pink walls all work, and so do black window frames and concrete. The one to choose if you want Ink but are not certain the room can take it.
Before you order
Ink, without closing the room in.
Every colour in the range has one thing it does less well. We would rather you knew it before the parcel arrives than after.

From the founder
“Most of the linen I was sent, I sent back.”
For weeks, samples arrived, were washed, slept on and judged, and most of them did not make it. What remained is the range: washed linen chosen for how it lives, not for how it photographs.
Will the colour match what I see on screen?
No two screens are calibrated the same way, so treat every photograph as a guide rather than a match. Our warm shades, Madder Stripe, Bracken, Peat and Campion Check, almost always photograph brighter than they look in a room. Our palest shades, Chalk and Barley, borrow from whatever surrounds them. If you are hesitating between two, the one that looks darker on screen is usually the safer choice.
Do the colours work together?
They were chosen as one set rather than as separate products, so any two of them will sit together without clashing. The pairings that work hardest are a pattern with a plain: Madder Stripe with Barley, Flint Stripe with Chalk, Campion Check with Sage. Two patterns in one room is a decision rather than an accident, and usually one too many.
Which size should I order?
Choose by the duvet you already own rather than by the bed it sits on. A King duvet on a Double bed still needs a King cover. Four sizes are made: Single, Double, King and Super King.
Will I have to iron it?
No. Creases are part of how washed linen looks, and smoothing it by hand as you make the bed is enough. Wash it on its own the first time, at the temperature on the label, and it will not surprise you.
What if it is not right when it arrives?
You have thirty days to change your mind, offered on top of your statutory fourteen-day right to cancel rather than instead of it. Open the packaging and look at it properly. Handling it as you would in a shop never affects your refund. If it is faulty, damaged or not as we described it, we arrange the return and we pay for it.
The other colours
Chosen as one palette.
Any two sit together. Choose by the wall it will face, not by the screen you are looking at.
